Skin Tightening with Liposuction in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London
Liposuction that helps your skin keep up
Liposuction combined with energy-based skin tightening, for the face, neck and body, with Mr Siva Kumar Veeramani. Controlled heat under the skin, through the same small cuts, helps it fit your new shape.

At a glance
What is skin tightening with liposuction?
Removing fat, then tightening the skin
Liposuction removes stubborn areas of fat that haven’t responded to diet and exercise, through small cuts of 3–5 mm. The fat cells removed don’t grow back.
Skin needs some elasticity to shrink down once the fat underneath has gone. As we age, after weight loss or pregnancy, or in areas such as the neck, arms and inner thighs, it may not shrink enough and can be left loose or uneven.
Skin tightening technology uses controlled heat under the skin, through the same small cuts, to make the network of fibrous tissue under the skin contract. This aims to help the skin fit the new shape better, and to avoid or reduce the need for operations that cut away skin, with their longer scars. The tightening is gradual and usually modest.
Areas that can be treated
- Face and neck: under the chin, the jowls, jawline and neck
- Upper arms
- Tummy, waist and flanks
- Back and bra roll, and hips
- Inner and outer thighs, and knees
- The male chest
What it won’t do
- Replace weight loss: it works best at or near a healthy, stable weight
- Remove large amounts of loose or overhanging skin
- Treat the fat inside the tummy
- Cure cellulite or stretch marks
The technologies
Different ways to heat the tissue
Mr Kumar will recommend the technology that suits the area being treated and your skin. They all work by heating the tissue under the skin, but in different ways.
BodyTite and FaceTite
A probe under the skin and an electrode on the surface pass radiofrequency energy between them. The device measures the temperature continuously and cuts out if it gets too hot. BodyTite is used on the body and FaceTite on the face and neck.
- Best for: the body (BodyTite) and the face and neck (FaceTite)
Renuvion
A fine probe under the skin turns a stream of helium gas into plasma, delivering very brief, concentrated heat just under the skin while the surrounding tissue stays cooler. Used after liposuction, or on its own where there is loose skin but little fat.
- Best for: loose skin, with or without fat to remove
Argo Plasma
Works in the same way as Renuvion but uses argon gas instead of helium. It is newer, and fewer studies of it have been published.
- Best for: use after liposuction on the body

Patient guide
Liposuction with skin tightening: your patient guide
A detailed booklet written by Mr Kumar. It explains the procedure in depth, how to prepare, every risk and complication, and how to look after yourself afterwards.
Opens as a booklet you can flick through. Your copy is also given to you at consultation.
Your journey
Your step-by-step journey
Your journey starts the moment you get in touch. From your first enquiry to your final check-up, you deal with the same small team, and you will always feel listened to, informed and never rushed.
Get in touch
Call, email or send an enquiry. Our team replies promptly and personally, and finds a time and clinic that suit you.
There is no pressure and no sales script. Tell us a little about what prompted you to get in touch, and we will make sure your consultation is with the right person for you.
Consultation
An unhurried, face-to-face appointment with Mr Kumar himself, who will be your surgeon from start to finish.
He listens to what you would like to change, examines you, explains every option, including non-surgical ones and doing nothing, and gives you an honest view of the likely result.
Time to decide
You receive a written plan, a clear quote and your patient guide, then take as long as you need.
A second consultation is included before surgery, and there is a cooling-off period of at least two weeks. Bring someone with you, ask anything, and change your mind at any point.
Day of treatment
Small areas, including the face and neck, can often be done under local anaesthetic, sometimes with sedation. Larger areas are usually done under general anaesthetic or deep sedation. The operation takes from about 1 hour for the neck to about 3 hours for several areas, and most people go home the same day.
He will see you beforehand to go through the plan and answer last-minute questions, and you will have clear instructions and a number to call once you go home.
Aftercare and follow-up
Reviews at each stage of your recovery, with support 24 hours a day whenever you need it.
Follow-up appointments are included in your package price, and continue until you have healed and are happy with how things have settled. You wear your compression garment for about six weeks, or a chin strap for the neck.
Recovery
Healing, week by week
Everyone heals at their own pace. This is a typical recovery, and Mr Kumar will give you a personal plan.
Soreness and bruising. The small cuts leak pink, watery fluid for 24 to 48 hours, which is expected. You can usually shower after 48 hours.
Swelling and bruising are at their worst. Stitches, if used, are removed after about a week.
Most people are back at work after a few days to 2 weeks. Light exercise from 2 weeks.
Bruising fades. The area may feel firm, lumpy or tight. Full exercise by about 4 to 6 weeks.
Most of the result can be seen.
The final result, particularly as the skin tightens.
Patient results
Before & after
Please note: these photographs are a mixture of Mr Kumar’s own patients and patients of colleagues, shared with their permission. The ‘after’ photographs were taken about three months after surgery, when some swelling remains and the skin is still tightening. They have only been resized and placed side by side. Everyone is different, and individual results vary.

AMAZING SERVICE FROM START TO FINISH I felt at complete ease, understood and physically and mentally ready from consultation to surgery. I had been to three previous hospitals and had consultations with other doctors and did not get this service. …
Having liposuction was new to me. Although I can't recommend some of the discomfort I can highly recommend Mr Kumar with high regard for his professionalism. He was very personable and empathetic so I always felt I was in the best possible hands. I am more than happy with the results
He explained everything to the best of his ability and when asked to explain something simpler he did just that. He ensured I was prepared adequately and ensured I was comfortable.

FAQs
Your questions, answered
How is this different from liposuction alone?
Liposuction removes fat but relies on your skin to shrink by itself. A skin tightening device heats the tissue under the skin through the same small cuts, to help it contract and fit the new shape.
Will it work as well as a tummy tuck?
No. The tightening is gradual and usually modest. If there is a lot of loose or overhanging skin, an operation to remove it, such as a tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift or neck lift, will give a much better result.
What does the evidence show?
These are newer technologies. Most studies are case series without a comparison group, and many have been supported by the manufacturers. In the best-designed study of Renuvion, independent assessors judged the skin of the chin and neck to be improved in about 8 in 10 people at six months. Mr Kumar will discuss how much improvement is realistic for you.
Am I suitable?
You are likely to be a good candidate if you have pinchable fat that hasn’t responded to diet and exercise, mild to moderate loose skin, a stable weight close to a healthy range, good general health, and you don’t smoke or can stop well before surgery.
When will I see the result?
The new shape starts to show after about 6 weeks, most of it can be seen at 3 months, and it can take 6 to 12 months for the final result.
Will there be scars?
Only the small cuts of 3 to 5 mm, placed where possible in skin creases, the belly button, or under the chin and behind the ears. They usually fade well.
Is it covered by insurance?
Cosmetic treatment is not usually covered by health insurance. Where there is a medical reason, it may be. Insurers will need Mr Kumar’s full name, Siva Kumar Veeramani, and GMC number 6114710.
