After graduating from the University of Newcastle, Mr Kumar completed his surgical training at leading centres across the UK, including three highly competitive fellowships in trauma, skin cancer and cosmetic surgery.
He was first appointed as a Consultant specialising in breast reconstruction in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2015. In 2016 he joined the world-renowned Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead as a Consultant specialising in melanoma and other skin cancers, where he still maintains his NHS practice. He is the MDT Lead for Skin Cancer for Kent and the local Sussex area.
He has also served as Clinical Director for Plastic Surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital (2021 to 2024) and Lead for Skin Cancer Services, has chaired the Kent and Sussex Skin Cancer Tumour Groups, and was a member of the Council of BAPRAS, the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, from 2018 to 2021.
Outside the hospital, Mr Kumar is a Medical Ambassador for the Melanoma Fund, a UK charity dedicated to preventing skin cancer. He supports its prevention campaigns, acts as a media spokesperson and gives his time at the charity’s skin check clinics.
His private practice uses contemporary techniques to achieve the best results, including laser-assisted eyelid surgery, water-assisted liposuction, breast enlargement with fat grafting, and skin tightening of the face and body with CO₂ laser and radiofrequency.

Consultation
An unhurried, face-to-face appointment with Mr Kumar himself, who will be your surgeon from start to finish.
He listens to what you would like to change, examines you, explains every option, including non-surgical ones and doing nothing, and gives you an honest view of the likely result.
Time to decide
You receive a written plan, a clear quote and your patient guide, then take as long as you need.
A second consultation is included before surgery, and there is a cooling-off period of at least two weeks. Bring someone with you, ask anything, and change your mind at any point.
Day of treatment
Mr Kumar performs your procedure personally, in a CQC-registered hospital or clinic with an experienced team.
He will see you beforehand to go through the plan and answer last-minute questions, and you will have clear instructions and a number to call once you go home.
Aftercare and follow-up
Reviews at each stage of your recovery, with support 24 hours a day whenever you need it.
Follow-up appointments are included in your package price, and continue until you have healed and are happy with how things have settled.
