At a glance
What is breast augmentation?
The right implant, not just the biggest
Breast augmentation uses implants to increase the size and improve the shape of the breasts. Good planning is what makes the result look natural and last, so at least two consultations are always arranged.
The most important step is choosing an implant that suits the width of your chest and what your skin can comfortably hold. Mr Kumar will also discuss whether the implant should sit above or below the chest muscle, and the shape and surface of the implant.
3D imaging software can help you visualise the likely result. If your breasts are also low or droopy, a lift may be needed at the same time, and fat transfer is an option for some people who prefer not to have implants.
Breast augmentation can help with
- Small breasts
- Loss of volume after pregnancy or weight loss
- Breasts of different sizes
- Restoring fullness at the top of the breast
What it won’t do
- Lift low or droopy breasts on its own (an uplift may be needed)
- Last for life (implants may need replacing in the future)
Your choices
Decisions we make together
Implant size and profile
Chosen within a narrow range that suits your chest width and skin, rather than a cup size, for a balanced, natural result.
- Best for: everyone
Above or below the muscle
Placing the implant partly under the chest muscle gives extra soft-tissue cover; above the muscle can suit people with more breast tissue.
- Best for: depends on your tissue thickness
Round or teardrop shape
Round implants give more fullness at the top; anatomical teardrop shapes follow the natural slope of the breast.
- Best for: your preferred look
Augmentation mastopexy
Implants combined with a breast uplift, for people who want more volume and have droopy breasts.
- Best for: volume loss with sagging
- Breast uplift with implants

Your journey
Your step-by-step journey
Your journey starts the moment you get in touch. From your first enquiry to your final check-up, you deal with the same small team, and you will always feel listened to, informed and never rushed.
Get in touch
Call, email or send an enquiry. Our team replies promptly and personally, and finds a time and clinic that suit you.
There is no pressure and no sales script. Tell us a little about what prompted you to get in touch, and we will make sure your consultation is with the right person for you.
Consultation
An unhurried, face-to-face appointment with Mr Kumar himself, who will be your surgeon from start to finish.
He listens to what you would like to change, examines you, explains every option, including non-surgical ones and doing nothing, and gives you an honest view of the likely result.
Time to decide
You receive a written plan, a clear quote and your patient guide, then take as long as you need.
A second consultation is included before surgery, and there is a cooling-off period of at least two weeks. Bring someone with you, ask anything, and change your mind at any point.
Day of treatment
Surgery takes about one and a half hours under general anaesthetic, and you stay one night. You wake up in a supportive surgical bra.
He will see you beforehand to go through the plan and answer last-minute questions, and you will have clear instructions and a number to call once you go home.
Aftercare and follow-up
Reviews at each stage of your recovery, with support 24 hours a day whenever you need it.
Follow-up appointments are included in your package price, and continue until you have healed and are happy with how things have settled. You are reviewed at regular intervals, and implant details are recorded on the national Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry.
Recovery
Healing, step by step
Everyone heals at their own pace. This is a typical recovery, and Mr Kumar will give you a personal plan.
Tightness and discomfort across the chest, controlled with painkillers. Wear your support bra day and night.
Most people return to desk work after about seven days. Avoid lifting.
Driving is usually possible. Wound check.
Gradual return to exercise. Keep sleeping on your back for six weeks.
The implants settle into a softer, more natural position.

FAQs
Your questions, answered
How do I choose the right size?
Mr Kumar measures your chest and assesses your skin, then narrows the choice to a small range of implants that will look natural on you. Sizers and 3D simulation help you decide.
Do implants need replacing?
Implants are not lifetime devices. Many last 10 to 15 years or more, but you may need further surgery at some point.
Can I breastfeed afterwards?
Most people can. Mr Kumar will talk you through how implant position and incision affect this.
What is BIA-ALCL?
A rare type of lymphoma that can develop in the scar tissue around implants, mainly textured ones. Mr Kumar will explain the current evidence and what symptoms to look out for.
Why do I need two consultations?
Planning matters. A second consultation gives you time to think, ask more questions and confirm your implant choice.
Breast augmentation: what is the guide price?
The guide price starts from £6,500. Your final fee depends on your treatment plan and choice of hospital, and is confirmed in a written quote after consultation. Self-pay consultations cost £250.
Is it covered by insurance?
Cosmetic treatment is not usually covered by health insurance. Where there is a medical reason, it may be. Insurers will need Mr Kumar’s full name, Siva Kumar Veeramani, and GMC number 6114710.
