About hyperhidrosis
A real condition, with real solutions
Hyperhidrosis means sweating far more than the body needs to stay cool, often from the underarms, palms or soles. It can cause embarrassment and anxiety and affect work and relationships.
Strong antiperspirants help some people. When they do not, botulinum toxin injections block the nerve signals that switch on the sweat glands, and are particularly effective for the underarms.
Tablets that reduce sweating are another option, although they can cause side effects such as a dry mouth.
Treatment can help with
- Underarm sweating
- Sweat marks on clothing
- Anxiety about sweating
- Sweating not controlled by antiperspirants
