The package
What you are paying for
Most moles are removed in a short procedure under local anaesthetic at The Ü Clinic in Sevenoaks or Oxted. Depending on the mole, it is either shaved flat or cut out completely and the skin closed with fine stitches.
Every mole Mr Kumar removes is sent to the laboratory to be examined under the microscope, so you know exactly what it was. Laboratory analysis (histology) is £160. Your written quote sets out every cost before anything is booked.
Your package price usually includes
- An examination of the mole with a dermatoscope before anything is removed
- The procedure under local anaesthetic, performed by Mr Kumar personally
- Dressings and clear wound-care advice
- Your laboratory result explained, and a plan if anything further is needed
- Everything in writing, with no pressure to proceed
Your quote
What affects the price
Every treatment is planned around you, so the guide price is a starting point. These are the main things that shape your final quote.
How many moles
Your quote reflects the number of moles removed. If you have several, they can often be removed at the same appointment, and each additional mole is £375.
Size and position
Larger moles, or moles on the face, may need a more careful closure, which takes longer.
Shave or full removal
Some raised, harmless-looking moles can be shaved flat. A mole that needs full analysis is cut out completely with a small margin of normal skin. Mr Kumar will explain which is right for you.
Why it is being removed
If a mole is changing or looks suspicious, the laboratory report guides what happens next, and Mr Kumar will talk you through it.
Paying for treatment
Insurance and finance
If a mole is changing, or your GP or Mr Kumar is concerned about it, removal is usually covered by private medical insurance, subject to your policy. Many insurers ask for a GP referral first. Removing a harmless mole for cosmetic reasons is not usually covered.
KIMS Hospital and The McIndoe Centre offer finance packages to help spread the cost. Details are on their own websites. These are third-party finance companies, not affiliated with Mr Kumar.
Other things to plan for
- Keeping the wound clean and dry for the first day or two
- Stitches, if used, are usually removed after one to two weeks
- Avoiding strenuous exercise for about a week if you have stitches
- Sun protection on the scar for at least a year
Comparing quotes
Why prices vary
Prices vary because clinics include different things. When you compare quotes, check who removes the mole, whether it is examined with a dermatoscope first, and whether it is sent to a laboratory.
Be wary of very cheap mole removal that does not send the mole to a laboratory. Only examination under the microscope can confirm that a mole is harmless.
FAQs
Cost questions, answered
How much does mole removal cost?
Mole removal with Mr Siva Kumar starts from £495. Your final fee depends on the number, size and position of the moles, and is confirmed in writing after your consultation. Laboratory analysis (histology) is £160.
Can my mole be removed on the same day?
Often, yes. A same-day appointment, which includes your consultation, the removal and one follow-up review with dressings and stitch removal, is £695, plus £160 for histology.
Will mole removal leave a scar?
Any cut through the skin leaves a mark, but Mr Kumar plans the incision along natural skin lines so that in most people it fades to a fine line. A shave removal usually leaves a small, flat, paler patch.

Yes. Mr Kumar examines every mole, usually with a dermatoscope, before recommending removal. A mole check costs £250.
How long does it take to heal?
Most wounds heal within two weeks. The scar keeps improving for several months.
How much is a consultation?
For self-pay patients, a first consultation is £250 and a follow-up consultation is £150. If you go ahead, your package includes a set number of follow-up consultations to see you through recovery.
Can I pay in instalments?
KIMS Hospital and The McIndoe Centre offer finance packages to help spread the cost. Details are on their own websites. These are third-party finance companies, not affiliated with Mr Kumar.
