Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty (Mini-Bleph) in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London
Fresher eyelids, without surgery
A mini-bleph, or Madonna eyelift, with Mr Siva Kumar uses fractional CO2 laser to tighten and smooth the eyelid skin without any cutting, for earlier changes or a more modest refresh.

At a glance
What is a mini-bleph?
Tighter eyelid skin, no stitches
A mini-bleph, also called a Madonna eyelift or Madonna lift, is fractional CO2 laser treatment to the upper and lower eyelids. The laser treats thousands of tiny columns of skin, and as it heals, new collagen tightens and smooths the eyelid skin.
It suits earlier changes in younger people, anyone who would like a more modest change than surgery, and people who have had eyelid surgery before and want to maintain the result. It also improves crepey skin and fine lines around the eyes.
It does not remove skin or fat. Where there is more loose skin, heavy hooding or eye bags, an upper or lower blepharoplasty gives a much bigger change, and Mr Kumar will tell you honestly which is right for you.
Some clinics use the name mini blepharoplasty for a smaller operation. At Mr Kumar’s clinic, a mini-bleph means CO2 laser tightening, with no cutting or stitches.
A mini-bleph can help with
- Mild hooding of the upper eyelids
- Crepey, wrinkled eyelid skin
- Fine lines and crow’s feet around the eyes
- Early heaviness in younger people
- Maintaining the result after previous eyelid surgery
What it won’t do
- Remove larger amounts of loose skin or fat, which needs a blepharoplasty
- Treat eye bags caused by fat
- Lift a drooping eyelid muscle (ptosis)
Options
Laser or surgery
Mini-bleph (CO2 laser)
Fractional CO2 laser tightens and smooths the eyelid skin under numbing cream, with your eyes protected throughout. Expect about a week of swelling, redness and peeling.
- Best for: mild hooding, crepey skin, maintenance after surgery
- CO2 laser
Upper blepharoplasty
Excess skin, and a little fat where needed, is removed through an incision in the natural crease of the eyelid, usually under local anaesthetic.
- Best for: moderate to marked hooding of the upper eyelids
- Upper eyelid surgery
Lower blepharoplasty
Removes or repositions the fat that causes eye bags, and tightens the lower eyelid skin.
- Best for: eye bags and loose lower eyelid skin
- Lower eyelid surgery

Consultation
A face-to-face assessment with Mr Kumar, who explains the options, costs and any risks.
Prescription treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections are only given after a proper medical assessment. You never have to decide on the day.
Treatment
Numbing cream is applied first, and protective shields are placed over your eyes. The laser is then passed over the eyelid skin, which feels warm and prickly. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and you go home straight afterwards.
You will know exactly what to expect, and receive aftercare advice and a number to call afterwards.
Review
A review appointment, usually after about two weeks, checks your result.
Any small adjustments can be made at this stage.
Maintenance
Advice on how long your result will last and when, if ever, to repeat treatment.
There is never any pressure to book further treatment.
Recovery
Healing, step by step
Everyone heals at their own pace. This is a typical recovery, and Mr Kumar will give you a personal plan.
The eyelids are swollen and red and feel sunburnt. Cool compresses and the ointment provided help.
The skin flakes and peels. Avoid eye make-up until it has healed.
Most people are back at work, sometimes with a little make-up.
Any pinkness fades gradually. Strict sun protection.
The skin keeps tightening as collagen builds.

FAQs
Your questions, answered
What is a mini-bleph?
A mini-bleph, also called a Madonna eyelift, is fractional CO2 laser treatment that tightens and smooths the eyelid skin without surgery. It suits earlier changes, a more modest refresh, or maintenance after previous eyelid surgery.
Mini-bleph or blepharoplasty: which do I need?
It depends on how much loose skin there is. Mild hooding and crepey skin often respond well to a mini-bleph. Moderate to marked hooding, or heavy upper lids that rest on the lashes, need an upper blepharoplasty to remove the skin.
Is it painful?
Numbing cream makes it comfortable for most people. You will feel warmth and prickling, and the eyelids feel sunburnt for a few days afterwards.
How long does it last?
The new collagen lasts, but your skin keeps ageing. Most people enjoy the result for several years, and a top-up treatment can maintain it.
Is it safe so close to the eyes?
Yes, in experienced hands. Protective eye shields are used throughout, and the laser settings are adjusted for the thin eyelid skin.
Is it covered by insurance?
A mini-bleph is a cosmetic treatment, so it is not covered by health insurance.
Mini-bleph: what is the guide price?
The guide price starts from £599. Your final fee depends on your treatment plan and choice of hospital, and is confirmed in a written quote after consultation. Self-pay consultations cost £250.
