Breast Uplift with Implants (Augmentation Mastopexy) in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London
Lifted and fuller, in proportion
A breast uplift with implants (augmentation mastopexy) with Mr Siva Kumar raises and reshapes breasts that have dropped and lost volume, and restores fullness with an implant chosen to suit your frame.

At a glance
What is augmentation mastopexy?
Two operations, planned as one
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss and age can leave the breasts both lower and emptier. An implant on its own fills the breast but does not lift it, and an uplift on its own raises the breast but adds little fullness. When you have both concerns, the two can be combined.
Augmentation mastopexy removes excess skin, reshapes the breast tissue and moves the nipple higher, and places an implant to restore volume, especially at the top of the breast. The areola can be made smaller at the same time.
It is a more complex operation than either an uplift or an augmentation alone, because the implant pushes outwards while the lift tightens the skin. Mr Kumar will explain whether it is best done in one operation or two, and will recommend a moderate implant that your skin can support, rather than the largest possible size.
If you are not sure which you need, read about a breast uplift and breast augmentation on their own. Many people come to their first consultation unsure, and that is normal.
A breast uplift with implants can help with
- Breasts that have dropped and look empty, especially at the top
- Nipples that sit low or point downwards
- Volume loss after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss
- Stretched or enlarged areolas
- Breasts of different sizes or at different heights
What it won’t do
- Avoid scars: the scars are permanent, although most fade well
- Stop the breasts changing with age, weight change or pregnancy
- Last for life: implants may need replacing in the future
Options
One stage or two
One-stage surgery
The lift and the implant are done in the same operation, with one anaesthetic and one recovery. This suits most people with mild to moderate drooping who would like a moderate increase in size.
- Best for: mild to moderate drooping with volume loss
Two-stage surgery
The uplift is done first, and the implant is placed in a second operation, usually at least three to six months later, once the breast has settled. This can be safer and more predictable when a large lift is needed.
- Best for: marked drooping, thin skin, a large change in size, or previous breast surgery
Scar pattern
A small lift may need only a scar around the areola. Most people need a lollipop-shaped scar, around the areola and down to the crease, and larger lifts an anchor-shaped scar that also runs along the crease beneath the breast.
- Best for: matched to how much skin needs removing
- Breast uplift
Implant choice
Usually a round or teardrop-shaped silicone gel implant of moderate size, placed partly under the chest muscle or above it, depending on how much breast tissue you have. Your implants are recorded on the national Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry.
- Best for: chosen for your chest width and skin quality
- Breast augmentation

Your journey
Your step-by-step journey
Your journey starts the moment you get in touch. From your first enquiry to your final check-up, you deal with the same small team, and you will always feel listened to, informed and never rushed.
Get in touch
Call, email or send an enquiry. Our team replies promptly and personally, and finds a time and clinic that suit you.
There is no pressure and no sales script. Tell us a little about what prompted you to get in touch, and we will make sure your consultation is with the right person for you.
Consultation
An unhurried, face-to-face appointment with Mr Kumar himself, who will be your surgeon from start to finish.
He listens to what you would like to change, examines you, explains every option, including non-surgical ones and doing nothing, and gives you an honest view of the likely result.
Time to decide
You receive a written plan, a clear quote and your patient guide, then take as long as you need.
A second consultation is included before surgery, and there is a cooling-off period of at least two weeks. Bring someone with you, ask anything, and change your mind at any point.
Day of treatment
The operation is done under general anaesthetic and takes about two and a half to three and a half hours. You usually stay one night and wake up in a supportive surgical bra. If your surgery is planned in two stages, each operation is shorter.
He will see you beforehand to go through the plan and answer last-minute questions, and you will have clear instructions and a number to call once you go home.
Aftercare and follow-up
Reviews at each stage of your recovery, with support 24 hours a day whenever you need it.
Follow-up appointments are included in your package price, and continue until you have healed and are happy with how things have settled. You are reviewed at regular intervals, and your implant details are recorded on the national Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry.
Recovery
Healing, step by step
Everyone heals at their own pace. This is a typical recovery, and Mr Kumar will give you a personal plan.
Tightness and discomfort across the chest, controlled with painkillers. Wear your support bra day and night.
Most people return to desk work after about two weeks. Avoid lifting and stretching your arms above your head.
Wound check. Driving once you can wear a seatbelt and make an emergency stop comfortably.
Gradual return to exercise. Keep sleeping on your back and wearing your bra day and night for 6 weeks.
The implants soften and settle, and the scars mature and fade.

Safety
Risks and staying safe
All surgery carries some risk. Mr Kumar will go through these with you in detail, and the patient guide covers them in full, so you can make an informed decision.
Possible risks
- Bleeding or haematoma
- Infection, which occasionally means removing an implant
- Slow healing where the scars meet
- Changes in nipple sensation
- Visible or stretched scarring
- Asymmetry, or some return of drooping over time
- Hardening around the implant (capsular contracture)
- A higher chance of further surgery than an uplift or augmentation alone, around 1 in 10 to 1 in 6
- Rarely, loss of part or all of the nipple, more likely in smokers
- Rarely, BIA-ALCL, a rare lymphoma linked mainly to textured implants
Lowering your risk
- Stop smoking and vaping at least 6 weeks before and after surgery, as it greatly increases wound and nipple problems
- Choose a surgeon who registers your implants on the national Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry
- Any breast lump or recent change should be checked by your GP before cosmetic surgery
- It is usually best to wait until you have finished having children, and at least 6 months after breastfeeding ends
- Tell us about all medicines and supplements, especially blood thinners
- Stop smoking and vaping well before and after surgery

FAQs
Your questions, answered
What is an augmentation mastopexy?
It is a breast uplift and a breast augmentation combined. The uplift raises and reshapes the breast and moves the nipple higher, and the implant restores fullness, especially at the top of the breast.
Should I have a lift, implants or both?
If your nipple sits at or below the crease under your breast, an implant alone is unlikely to lift it. If you have enough volume, an uplift alone may be enough. Both together suit breasts that have dropped and lost fullness. Mr Kumar will examine you and explain your options honestly.
Is it done in one operation or two?
Most people have both in one operation. Where a large lift is needed, the tissues are thin, or you have had breast surgery before, doing the uplift first and the implant at least three to six months later can be safer and more predictable.
How painful is a breast lift with implants?
Most people describe tightness and soreness rather than severe pain. It is worse for the first few days, and when the implant is placed under the muscle. Regular painkillers usually control it, and it eases over one to two weeks.
Can I breastfeed after a breast uplift with implants?
Many people can, because the nipple usually stays attached to the breast tissue beneath it, but the ability to breastfeed can be reduced. A future pregnancy can also stretch the breasts again, so it is usually best to wait until you have finished having children.
Will I need more surgery in the future?
Possibly. Combining a lift with an implant has a higher chance of further surgery than either operation alone, around 1 in 10 to 1 in 6, for example to adjust the shape, a scar or the implant. Implants are also not lifetime devices.
How much does a breast uplift with implants cost?
The guide price starts from £7,495. Your final fee depends on your treatment plan and choice of hospital, and is confirmed in a written quote after consultation. Self-pay consultations cost £250.
Is it covered by insurance?
Cosmetic treatment is not usually covered by health insurance. Where there is a medical reason, it may be. Insurers will need Mr Kumar’s full name, Siva Kumar Veeramani, and GMC number 6114710.
