Mini Tummy Tuck (Mini Abdominoplasty) in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London
A smoother lower tummy
A mini tummy tuck (mini abdominoplasty) with Mr Siva Kumar removes loose skin and a small bulge below the belly button, through a shorter, low scar and with a quicker recovery than a full tummy tuck.

At a glance
What is a mini tummy tuck?
For changes below the belly button
Pregnancy, a caesarean section or weight change can leave a small pouch of loose skin and fat low on the tummy that does not shift with diet or exercise, even when the rest of the tummy is fairly flat.
A mini tummy tuck removes this skin and fat through a low scar, usually a little longer than a caesarean scar, and smooths the area. If needed, the tummy muscles below the belly button can be tightened at the same time. The belly button itself is not moved.
It suits people whose loose skin and bulge are below the belly button only. If there is loose skin above the belly button, or the tummy muscles have separated all the way up, a full tummy tuck will give a better result. Our article mini vs full tummy tuck: which do I need? explains the difference.
A mini tummy tuck is not a weight-loss operation, and results are best when you are close to a stable, healthy weight. If you have lost a lot of weight, read about surgery after weight loss.
A mini tummy tuck can help with
- A small pouch of skin and fat below the belly button
- An overhang above a caesarean section scar
- Loose, crepey skin on the lower tummy
- Stretch marks low on the tummy, where they lie in the skin removed
- Mild looseness of the muscles below the belly button
What it won’t do
- Treat loose skin or muscle separation above the belly button
- Replace weight loss
- Remove every stretch mark
- Stop weight gain or a future pregnancy changing the result

Your journey
Your step-by-step journey
Your journey starts the moment you get in touch. From your first enquiry to your final check-up, you deal with the same small team, and you will always feel listened to, informed and never rushed.
Get in touch
Call, email or send an enquiry. Our team replies promptly and personally, and finds a time and clinic that suit you.
There is no pressure and no sales script. Tell us a little about what prompted you to get in touch, and we will make sure your consultation is with the right person for you.
Consultation
An unhurried, face-to-face appointment with Mr Kumar himself, who will be your surgeon from start to finish.
He listens to what you would like to change, examines you, explains every option, including non-surgical ones and doing nothing, and gives you an honest view of the likely result.
Time to decide
You receive a written plan, a clear quote and your patient guide, then take as long as you need.
A second consultation is included before surgery, and there is a cooling-off period of at least two weeks. Bring someone with you, ask anything, and change your mind at any point.
Day of treatment
Surgery usually takes one and a half to two hours under general anaesthetic. Many people go home the same day, and some stay one night. You wake up in a compression garment, occasionally with a small drain.
He will see you beforehand to go through the plan and answer last-minute questions, and you will have clear instructions and a number to call once you go home.
Aftercare and follow-up
Reviews at each stage of your recovery, with support 24 hours a day whenever you need it.
Follow-up appointments are included in your package price, and continue until you have healed and are happy with how things have settled. You wear your compression garment for around six weeks.
Recovery
Healing, step by step
Everyone heals at their own pace. This is a typical recovery, and Mr Kumar will give you a personal plan.
Soreness and tightness across the lower tummy. You may walk slightly bent at first. Short walks help your circulation.
Rest at home with short walks. Wear your garment day and night. Wound check at about one week.
Most people return to desk work, and to driving once they can make an emergency stop comfortably.
Return to exercise and lifting, building up gradually.
Swelling settles fully, and the scar fades and flattens.

FAQs
Your questions, answered
Am I suitable for a mini tummy tuck?
You may be if your loose skin and bulge are below the belly button, the skin above it is reasonably firm, your weight is stable and you are in good general health. Mr Kumar will examine you and tell you honestly whether a mini or a full tummy tuck would suit you better.
What is the difference between a mini and a full tummy tuck?
A mini tummy tuck treats only the area below the belly button, with a shorter scar and no change to the belly button. A full tummy tuck treats the whole tummy, repairs the muscles from the ribs down and repositions the belly button, with a longer scar.
Is a mini tummy tuck less painful than a full tummy tuck?
Usually, yes. Less surgery is done, so most people are more comfortable and recover more quickly, but you should still expect soreness and tightness for the first week or two.
Where is the scar?
Low across the tummy, usually within the underwear or bikini line. It is shorter than a full tummy tuck scar, and if you have a caesarean scar, it can often be removed as part of the new scar.
Is a mini tummy tuck worth it?
For people whose concern is limited to the lower tummy, it can be a good option with less surgery and a quicker recovery. If loose skin extends above the belly button, a mini tummy tuck is unlikely to give the result you want, which is why careful assessment matters.
Is fat removed during a mini tummy tuck?
The fat attached to the skin that is removed goes with it, and liposuction can be added to the waist or flanks for a smoother outline. It does not remove fat inside the tummy, around the organs, which only weight loss can reduce.
How much does a mini tummy tuck cost?
The guide price starts from £4,500. Your final fee depends on your treatment plan and choice of hospital, and is confirmed in a written quote after consultation. Self-pay consultations cost £250.
Is it covered by insurance?
Cosmetic treatment is not usually covered by health insurance. Where there is a medical reason, it may be. Insurers will need Mr Kumar’s full name, Siva Kumar Veeramani, and GMC number 6114710.
